Guillotine Features and Benefits
Features:
ASTM A-36 heavy duty steel construction,
designed for service in the worst load conditions, with 1½” plate crosshead
knife holder, heavy tube section construction, and thorough cross bracing
Hardened tool steel knives that are replaceable and resharpenable. The customer cannot resharpen these knives on a bench grinder but can have Brinkley resharpen them. Knives are stocked in 30”, 36” and 42” sizes and we try to build the required length out of these standards to ensure immediate availability from stock. We can also cut down these lengths in a week or so. Non-standard knives may take a month to get. We recommend that a customer have a spare set of knives in stock so that the roll splitter can be maintained in service.

Simple, robust guide system consisting of brass wear plates and angles capable of absorbing high off center cutting loads, and wear angles to protect the structure

Simple hydraulic system using Parker
cylinders and components. Easy floor level access to the hydraulic
cylinders.
Complete hydraulic power unit with controls, including suction strainer, gear pump, coupling, motor, guard, reservoir, relief valve, return in-line filter and pressure gauge. Included is 10’ of hydraulic hose to connect to the guillotine.

All units completely pre-piped and shop
tested for rapid and trouble free service
Over 40 years of experience building hundreds of guillotine roll splitters
Safety Systems:
Two hand operation is included at valve and pushbutton stations

The guillotine hydraulic system is
configured to prevent accidental lowering of the guillotine cross head under
normal and emergency conditions
The manual operating valve is spring
centered so that unless operated, the cross head will not move. This valve
is plugged and provided with a check valve so that flow only moves if the
handle is moved, even without hydraulic power.
A redundant safety feature is also provided in the hydraulic system. At the bottom port on each cylinder a counter balance valve is hard piped to the cylinder port. This valve only opens if system hydraulic pressure is available. If the motor is shut off, or a hydraulic line breaks, the counterbalance valve closes and the cylinder is locked in place.

Hydraulic valve operator stations are
provided with enclosures to prevent pressurized hydraulic fluid from
escaping
A robust knife guard consisting of chain suspended UHMW tubes with heavy steel tube cores is suspended by chain from the cross head to prevent accidental contact with the knife

Lift, tilt and lift and tilt tables are
provided with rubber belt toe guards to brush back feet and prevent
crushing, and flow fuses to prevent excessive descent speed in case of
hydraulic valve or line failure
Conveyors and ramps include side rails
and panels at half height of rolls to prevent rolls from escaping
Safety signage with pictogram representations per current standards.
Optional Accessories:
